What kind of restaurant do you prefer, Fast Food or Sit Down?  There are many reasons why people prefer the kind of restaurant they do, depending on their lifestyles and food preferences.  There are pros and cons of both fast foods and sit down restaurants.

Fast food restaurants are very popular nowadays.  Each usually serves one style of food, for instance: Asian food, Southern chicken, Mexican, and so on.  Fast food is good for someone in a hurry who does not have time to go home and cook. These restaurants fit the new generation of people who live a busy lifestyle.  Fast food restaurants also have been working on their reputation of unhealthy food and adding more healthy food choices.

Pros of fast food:

  • Fast Food is usually cheaper
  • Quick service
  • Tastes good
  • Drive Thru
  • Don’t have to tip

Cons of fast food:

  • Can be very unhealthy
  • Can have long waits in a drive through
  • Can count your calories at most restaurants

Sit down restaurants are a classic choice for dining.  At sit down restaurants a waiter or waitress comes and takes your drink, food orders and you are given them when they are ready.  The most high end restaurants are sit down restaurants and usually require a reservation.  At these high end restaurants a chef who went to culinary school usually prepares your meals and can be very expensive, but very appetizing!

Pros of sit down restaurants:

  • usually has a bigger variety of food choices
  • healthier options
  • have a long talk with friends or family
  • usually better quality food is served

Cons of sit down restaurants:

  • more obligated to tip
  • expensive
  • long waits for tables
  • might have to make a reservation at some restaurants
