There is no doubt that the 2013 Catamount football team is for real this year due to last Friday’s victory by a score of 44 to zero against the Heritage Huskies. Signs of a great game were shown early when quarterback Brenden Magner completed a 49-yard bomb to wide receiver Javontay Rhodes, which set up a one-yard touchdown run by running back Dorrel McClain, putting the Catamounts up 7-0. On the ensuing drive, Magner led the team down the field with a variety of passes and runs, setting up the McClain to punch another short run in for a touchdown. Panther Creek’s “Blue Swarm” defense also played a great game with multiple sacks and three-and-outs, shutting Heritage’s offense down completely to a total of only eighty yards.
