As one semester ends and a new one begins, students here at Panther Creek reflect on their performance in the first, and predict how they will do in the second. Out of all the interviews, most people said that they do better in first semester. “I would say first semester [I do better] because second semester, I usually don’t care” says Alex Groh. Other people shared this same sentiment, such as John Jackson who stated that he was able to focus on and put more work into his first semester. Other people disagreed with these opinions, explaining that they are sprinting towards the end and putting in the work to get there. Aly DelVendo claims, “it’s almost the end and I just want to do my best.”
When asked which semester feels longer, Aly and Alex share a similar opinion, both saying that second semester feels longer. They said that first semester has more long weekends, miscellaneous days off, and breaks such as Winter and Thanksgiving break while second semester only has Spring break. On the other hand, John said that first semester goes by slower because you are getting back into a new school year and you are coming back from summer vacation.
