ACC Barnstorm Tour Shocks PC Students
On April 6th Panther Creek was proud to recently host the first stop of the 39th annual ACC Barnstorming Tour. College basketball players from NC state, Wake Forest, Duke and even championship winners from UNC Chapel-Hill made it out to Cary to participate in a multiple games with local high schoolers.
Seniors from Panther Creek, Holly Springs, Middle Creek, Fuquay Varina, Athens drive, and Apex high school toughed it out against college seniors such as Amile Jefferson, Kennedy Meeks, Isaiah Hicks, Matt Jones, and Trent VanHorn. Both groups of seniors went against each other in a standard basketball game, three-point and slam dunk competition. After the College players took losses in the dunking contest with Panther Creek senior Justin Smalls taking the win and a senior from Holly Springs sinking every shot in the three-point competition PCNN decided to ask the college seniors how the felt on the games.
“It was a great game with a fun atmosphere.” said Justin Coleman “I really enjoyed the fans and teammates.”
Matt Jones commented on how he felt coming back to high school to play basketball saying “It brought me back to the best time in my life growing up with no worries. Overall the game was fun and it brought back memories.”
