In previous years Panther Creek High School has been known for their outstanding and exceptional sports programs. This fall, the Men’s Varsity Soccer team made it to the third round of playoffs for the first time in history. In the first round of playoffs Panther Creek defeated Corinth Holders with a victorious score of 4-0. For the second round of playoffs the Catamounts played for the win against the Apex Friendship Patriots with a score of 1-0. Lastly, in the third round of playoffs Panther Creeks successful season came to an end against Green Hope with a score of 0-4.

 

The fight for 55 (when Panther Creek plays Green Hope) is one of the most hyped up and anticipated sports games of the year. Players and coaches spend time preparing weeks ahead when these two schools play against each other, regardless of the sport. When it comes to the seniors these games mean the most to them, it’s their last game playing against their biggest high school rival.

The notorious Chad Sichak, Head Coach of the varsity men’s soccer team made a major contribution to the success of this year’s team, as well as the rest of the coaching staff. One key factor that led to their success was coach Sichak identifying the team’s strengths and weaknesses to embrace and to improve upon. In an interview he stated that “we need to up our intensity” and “defense is the strength of our team”.
