The student section, otherwise known as the twelfth man – a term describing that the fans are as influential as an extra player on the field –  is compromised of the most important fans at the football games. The student section is a collection of the loudest and craziest fans thrown into one area. It is usually divided by how loud the fans are, but lately the question has been asked – should it be divided by grade level?

The battle for the front rows of the student section is mainly between the juniors and seniors. Seniors believe that the front rows belong to them because in past years it has been the seniors’ sacred ground. Seniors say that because they have been waiting for the last three years to sit in the front rows, believing it is only right that the juniors wait one more year. Juniors, in turn, argue that they are the loudest fans giving them the right to sit in the front row.

As there are no rules about how the student section should be divided, it has been a race to the bleachers. Because of the recent success of football team the craziness of the student section has made the disagreement even worse.  This leads many to believe the constant fight for the front rows should be left as is to increase student participation at the games. Now it’s time for you to decide:

Should the student section be divided by grade?

  • No, it shouldn't be segregated (66%, 27 Votes)
  • Yes, it should be segregated (34%, 14 Votes)
