Meet your STUCO Leaders 2015-2016
Student council officers are students who work together to represent the entire student body, the main purpose is to create a community at school that everyone wants to be a part of, students and teachers alike. Student government in high school is a way for students to be directly involved in working towards common goals that benefit not only the school but also the students. Last month, the student body took part in elections for the new student council for the upcoming school year. The students who were elected had a lot to say about their plans for the new year and why they wanted to get involved with student council in the first place.
Student involvement is important in creating a sense of community within the school. Student government gives individuals a chance to get involved in planning and putting on events that the student body can go to and participate in. Those who are in student council are the leaders who get the student body together by creating interest and getting people excited to go to these events creating a sense of school pride.
Students tend to not think about the process of how student events are put on, but focus on the end result. Student Council helps propose and organize all student events at Panther Creek, including the annual Homecoming dance and Prom. PCNN decided to profile some of the leaders elected for the upcoming school year to get an idea of why they wanted to take on such big leadership positions and what they have to offer for the student body in future years.
