Final Farewell for the Class of 2019

As the school year comes to a close, the class of 2019 is wrapping things up before they head off to college and take on the next 4 years of their lives. PCNN sat down with a few of these seniors one last time to ask them some final questions.

To start, we asked if there was anything else students would like to do or accomplish with their last week of school. Several of them joked that the most important thing at this point was simply passing all of their classes and doing well on finals. Ben Rodriguez also noted that he would like to “see as many people as possible before heading off to college.”

Next, the seniors told us their biggest regret as well as their favorite memory of high school. Not putting in enough effort academically seemed to be a common theme when it came to regret, and students wished they had tried harder in their freshman and sophomore years in particular. Favorite memories ranged from prom, to tennis tournaments, fun gym classes, and of course all the friendships made along the way.

We also asked the seniors for any advice they had for the class of 2020. Owen Shifflett reminds the current Junior class not to flunk out during their last year, and Lauryn Mulder heeds an even greater warning: “Don’t drunk drive.” All the students interviewed were in agreement that the year flew by, and to make it count before time runs out.

Lastly, we asked how the senior class was planning to celebrate graduation. Many of them hope to spend this special day with the people they love, and Shifflett says he will be “going out to dinner with family” after the ceremony. As the class of 2019 waves goodbye to their time at Panther Creek, PCNN wishes them the best of luck, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for these students.
