Prom 2k19
Prom at Panther Creek High School is an event that is looked forward to by both the junior and senior class. The theme this year was a “A Night in New York,” which was especially nostalgic for the class of 2019 as it was the same theme as their 8th grade formal almost 4 years ago. PCNN interviewed the upperclassman of Panther Creek about their experience at the dance this year and whether or not it lives up to the hype.
The first question asked was if students chose to attend prom this year, and what they thought of the theme. Every student interviewed said they went to prom, however there were several mixed opinions on the theme and general prom environment. Many students agreed that they didn’t pay too much attention to the theme but they didn’t really seem to mind it, while junior Andrew Burch said that it was “overall a really nice atmosphere.”
Next, students were asked how they felt about the DJ and if they thought the music playlist was up to date. 11th grader Maeve Flanigan stated that “it wasn’t the best, but it also wasn’t the worst.” Fellow classmate Isabela Yengling disliked the choice of music and believes it was better at homecoming.
In addition, we inquired about whether students enjoy the before and after events of prom or the dance itself more. Almost every student was in agreement that pre and post prom was more enjoyable, and Allison Cueva says this is because of the freedom students have outside of the school environment.
Lastly, students were asked if they believe prom lived up to the hype. Although many of them said that their night didn’t go as planned, they still had fun and are hopeful to have an even better time next year.
