Unpeppy Pep Rallys

Panther Creeks sub par pep rallies, and subsequently lack thereof, bring forward an issue to students. The people of the creek have no school spirit.

Once a year students are allowed to get out of class early. Early in the first semester is the one and only pep rally of the year. And generally, students just leave. The problem lies within a lack of engagement for those in attendance. While there may be stunts or events going on, students have no way to participate themselves. It often turns into a conglomerate of groups of students distracting each other.

The atmosphere of the pep rallies is topped only by the lack of such school sponsored events. With only a single pep rally each year, students would find it difficult to express school spirit even IF they found enjoyment within the rallies.

While many individuals are often caught up in what they don’t have, we feel this is an acceptable time to look at what other schools are doing and why it works for them. Apex High School brings in Moto Bikers to perform stunts in the gym. Musical chairs is a staple for many other schools in the area.

Finding a solution comes down to the two aforementioned points. Increasing student involvements, and increasing the quantity of school sponsored events. Adding interactive games and experiences is the key to a more involved pep rally, and as such more involved students. We at PCNN look forward to what may come in the upcoming years pep rally.
