Catamount Prancin’: Panther Creek’s Fall Dance Concert in Review

On December 4th, 2013, at 7pm, Panther Creek’s very own dance department performed their annual Fall Dance Concert. Being the first year the Dance I classes were included in the concert, many of them were nervous; however, freshman Cameron Spain explained her thoughts on the concert, saying “It turned out well; we knew the dances and no one messed up badly.”

“There is a lot of preparation that goes into setting it up,” Ms. Hamblen noted. Rehearsal itself started only two days before previous, and to pull off a top-notch concert, many preparations would be needed.

Over 300 people were in attendance, and to make a great concert even better, the money raised from ticket sales would go to fund the school’s art program, in addition to the Laura Rosa Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship available to seniors later in the year.

On November 29th, Daphne Aguinaldo, a former student and Panther Creek dance team member, fought her last day with cancer. A 2009 graduate, she was known as both a great student and dancer; she was also part of National Honor Society and the varsity cheerleading team. The dance department gave tribute to her honor for the legacy she left behind.
