New Politics

New Politics and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness came to Raleigh, North Carolina for their Wilderness Politics tour along with openers Lolo and The Griswolds on November 8, 2015. New Politics is a rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark formed in 2009, and Andrew McMahon is an American singer-songwriter who has been an active artist since way back in the days of 1998. Despite their differences age-wise, the two artists have shown an undeniable musical connection that this tour put its spotlight on and PCNN had the chance to experience firsthand – check out our gallery below.

New Politics released their latest album, “Vikings”, in August 2015 and played newer fan favorites such as “West End Kids” as well as older ones, including “Harlem” (2013) and “Yeah Yeah Yeah” (2010). Their music style – “guitar-driven blend of punk, pop, and dance-rock” – easily kept the crowd’s energy up until the moment the entire set was over (Monger). Andrew McMahon brought out his piano, which set a more nostalgic atmosphere; he especially took everyone back in time when he brought out one of those gigantic rainbow parachutes from elementary school P.E. class and went under and danced with the crowd during the last song of the show.

The Wilderness Politics Tour was certainly a night to remember.
