Super Bowl 51 and Its Halftime Show. Great or Dud?
It’s February, the air is still brisk, students are starting their second semester, and spring is nearing. However, the much anticipated Super Bowl, taking place in Houston Texas at NRG stadium, awaits the eyes of almost every American citizen. With that comes the entertaining commercials, the crazy antics by reporters, and of course, the week leading up to the super bowl (media week). The match up between the Tom Brady led New England Patriots and the “Matty Ice”, Matt Ryan, led Atlanta Falcons will be one for the decades and resembles a certain similarity between the Super Bowl XLIX clash featuring the Seahawks and Patriots; one in which the Patriots came out on top.
In addition to the aforementioned events, the halftime show is normally the talk of the Super Bowl yet this year’s performer, Lady Gaga, is one that not many are fond of. It seems to be another dud especially after last year’s exceptional performance by the likes of Bruno Mars, Coldplay, and Beyonce. It seems as though the SB51 committee takes a “blast to the past” having Lady Gaga perform. It’s a bold move many of the fans and players alike are baffled by. Take our poll and see how your opinion lines up with the opinions of others. The Super Bowl… where legends are born or heroes are forgotten.
