Kicking it with DJ Mason

Senior DJ Mason is a soccer player who attends Panther Creek. However, Mason is not your average left back. He recently traveled to California to attend a soccer camp put on by the US Men’s National Team and the head coach, Javier Perez. While he was there, he trained with the best players his age from across the country.

Mason has been playing soccer since he was five. He currently plays for the U18 Capital Area Railhawks Academy, and has played for them for two years. Mason said his most memorable moment playing soccer was when he was playing in his U14 year; during a game against Georgia, a cross came into the box and Mason vollied it upper ninety.

Next year Mason will attend UNC Chapel Hill to play soccer. Mason reflects on the experiences that have led him to his current success. In an exclusive interview Mason told us he would like to thank past coaches for helping him get to the level he’s at now.
