Panther Creek athletics include a variety of sports for students including soccer, basketball, football, and many more. However, unlike other schools, it lacks men’s volleyball; students at Panther Creek have been trying to change this. Similar to Powderpuff, Volleybros is a student-led club in which guys have the opportunity to play volleyball.

Originally a school sponsored event, Volleybros is an event in which male students were able to hold a one time scrimmage for any male student wanting to participate. However, starting from the 2022-2023 school year, Volleybros was turned into a club. The club allows 6 player teams to compete in a series of games over the course of a few weeks. Thomas Dixon explains the goal of Volleybros, “It’s a club for mens volleyball that we’re trying to get installed at school and try to get it to a state level. We need 25% for NCHSA approval.” 

With hopes to get it to the NCHSA level, Volleybros have been successful in the past few years, and we hope that progress continues.
