This year, the North Carolina State Fair will be in town from October 17th to the 27th. The tickets can be ordered online for $8.00 and at the gate for $9.00. Catamounts have awaited the arrival of the state fair all year, and usually go several times when it’s in town. Whether it’s eating deep fried butter or riding the Ferris Wheel, every Catamount has something that they love about the state fair.

Madi McGroarty, a junior at Panther Creek, went to the state fair this past Saturday, and is planning to go again next week. Madi’s favorite ride is the Vortex, and her favorite fair food is red velvet fried oreos. Madi says if she could spend all of her money on red velvet fried oreos, she would.

Senior Mason Whitaker also went to the state fair this past Saturday. Mason’s favorite rides include the Ferris Wheel and Zero Gravity, and his favorite fair food is deep fried oreos.

Junior Daphne Levert goes to the fair every year for her birthday. Daphne enjoys doing the turkey shoot with her brother, and eating funnel cakes. One ride that Daphne particularly likes is the Zipper.

Haylee Shingleton, a senior, loves riding the rides at the state fair her favorite being the Zipper. Out of all of the food at the fair, Haylee’s favorite is a deep fried Snickers bar.

The North Carolina State Fair gives everyone the opportunity to do what they want and eat what they want. It has something to offer every Catamount. If you haven’t gone to the North Carolina State Fair yet, go and see what makes North Carolina special.
