Spirit week is the time when students and teachers have the opportunity to dress up and show their pride for Panther Creek. The school has fun and creative themes for each of the days leading up to the homecoming game and dance, and this year we saw plenty of interesting and amazing outfits. For the freshman, this was their first spirit week and they were excited and enjoyed how many students at Panther Creek participated. This year was very successful, as a junior, Gregory Lambona said, “…it’s so much better than when I was a freshmen.” As more people take place in it each year, it is becoming much more entertaining and fun to do, and brings our entire student body together.

For the first day of spirit week, each class was given a color and the students were to dress in that designated color. Freshmen wore gray, sophomores wore blue, juniors wore white, and seniors wore black. It was very fun the first day to see all of the different colors, especially when in a classroom of students from primarily one class, it was like an army of monochromatic soldiers.

Tuesday was twin day, where friends could dress up like each other. Some of the people looked like actual twins, while on the other hand a few actually were twins dressed identically, and no one could tell the difference. It was a good day for people to show their school spirit while dressing up with their friends.

The third day, the day where students dress most crazily, was wacky tacky day. Mismatched socks, wigs, layers of old clothes, unflattering shirts and pants, and bright fabrics were very prominent on wacky tacky day. For a lot of people at Panther Creek, this is their favorite day because of how creative they can dress. This is typically the most popular days of the spirit week because of it’s hilarity and chaos.

Hippies, babies, and nineties kids were everywhere on the fourth day, which was themed as throwback Thursday. Some people really looked like they stepped right out of the 1960s, wearing big purple glasses, a headband, a tie dye shirt, and big pants. Others approached the theme as a throwback to their life, and came to school wearing a onesie and having a pacifier in their mouths, which was very funny. There were many decades represented on Thursday, and it was nice to see them all.

Friday was PC pride day. On this day, the students would wear Panther Creek colors and shirts to show their support and pride for their school, and hundreds of people participated in it. This is the most important of the days, not only because of the pride, but because of how well it brings the entire student body together. This day shows that we are all here to support and be there for each other throughout our high school experience because Panther Creek is truly one big family.
