Successful National Signing Day for Catamounts

Panther Creek had ten athletes sign to their respective colleges after school Wednesday, February 4th.  This group of 2015 athletes are part of a larger group of nineteen total athletes committed to continue playing their sport at the collegiate level.

Of the group, women’s soccer was represented with seven people in the signing, and men’s soccer, men’s golf, and women’s swimming each had one player sign.

The athletes anxiously waited through their coaches bragging about them and their teammates.  Coach Grant (Men’s and Women’s Soccer), Coach Denton (Men’s Golf), and Coach Ray (Men’s and Women’s Swimming) all gave a short speech about the talented athletes they coached.  And as Coach Denton shared, even though the athletes have their future in place, they still have unfinished business left in high school.

“A lot of kids play a college sport, and find a way to get lost – he’s not going to get lost,” Coach Denton said.  “A lot of guys are consistently average.  He’s consistently getting better.  It’s going to be a special year and I know it, mainly because of Luke and his senior leadership.”

And once they physically signed the paper laid out for them prior to their arrival at the media center, they were joined for pictures with their friends and families.  This thus concluded the ceremony.

Nine of the eleven athletes who took part in the ceremony are going to be participating in Panther Creek athletics this spring.  The Catamounts, in all sports, look to improve upon the great spring season in 2014.
