Panther Creek GSA: It Gets Better
For the last couple weeks the Panther Creek Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) has been working on creating a video for the “It Gets Better” movement. The idea behind the project is to reach out to young people struggling with sexuality, gender identity, and other similar issues. In this video we tell them that they aren’t alone in their confusion and troubles and that things will get better. The It Gets Better Project is a nonprofit that started in 2010 and since had over 50,000 different videos uploaded to the Internet from individual groups and organizations like schools. Now Panther Creek can boast that it has taken part in this worldwide project that presidents, politicians, actors, and famous singers have taken part of as well.
Directed, filmed, and edited by Victor Eduardo and Charlie Kim, the video features many students, teachers, and administrators telling facts about assaults, insults, and other problems surrounding people who are in the LGBT community. After that, there’s a compilation of people saying “it gets better” followed by uplifting facts and quotes.
