The Story Behind Panther Creek Blood Drive

The Story Behind Panther Creek Blood Drive

Cameron Leblanc and Juan Munoz

Panther Creek High School students and faculty love to donate blood and help save lives.  This school year PCHS had two blood drives for the first time and the most recent one being on March 17th. Panther Creek has been doing blood drives for several years now and was first started by a student named Rizwan Dard.  Rizwan worked hard to make a blood drive happen at Panther Creek while he was at the school and now it has become an annual event.  This year the blood drive was taken over by Rizwan’s brother, Temoor Dard, and he has continued the legacy of these blood drives to help and save lives.  Temoor worked hard to make it possible for two blood drives in one school year and says he wants to have this happen every year from now on because of the success from this years two blood drives.  These two students worked hard and also had help from Spanish teacher Mrs.Endsley who has helped make these blood drives a success from the beginning with Rizwan.

This year during the second blood drive Temoor and Mrs.Endsley were able to collect enough blood to help save up to 159 lives.  This year was the most amount of blood that Panther Creek was able to donate to REX Blood Services of all time. A total of 53 people were able to donate with 68 participants in all.  This year Temoor helped get 90% of the available donation slots filled on the second drive of the year.  This is a great success and a wonderful way to help others and save lives.  Next year should be just as good as Temoor has three more years at Panther Creek because he’s only a freshman and is ready to take on the next years to get more donations and help save more and more lives throughout his high school career.
