Don’t Catch Senioritis! Tips On How To Stay Healthy for Flu Season
It’s cold and flu season, which means there’s a lot of stuff going around. However, nobody wants to miss school, especially seniors who are working hard to get exemptions for their exams. So PCNN has taken it upon ourselves to share some tips on how to remain healthy in this turbulent season.
- Wash your hands frequently, especially after sneezing and coughing, and before you eat. It’s a good idea to keep some hand sanitizer with you in case you can’t reach a bathroom.
- Avoid touching your nose, mouth, and eyes.
- Make sure you’re getting enough sleep, 7-9 hours is recommended.
- Try to reduce stress
- Eat healthy and exercise
- Avoid contact with those you know to be sick
- Drinking hot tea and breathing in the steam can stimulate the hair follicles in the nose, allowing germs to move out more quickly. Add lemon, which thins out mucus, and also honey, which is an antibacterial.
- Make sure you’re getting enough protein. A diet that is low in protein has been proven to weaken the immune system.
- Keep surroundings clean.
- Take vitamins. Vitamin C and Zinc are great for keeping the body healthy.
