PC Students React to Valentine Song-a-Grams
Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to the celebration of love, on a global scale. Within the United States, it is seen as a time when people spend time with their loved ones and let them know they are appreciated. Many high schools introduce ways for students to celebrate. At Panther Creek, the idea of Song-a-Grams came about as a way to let fellow students (and teachers!) know they are loved and cared for. The process allows students to nominate someone to be sung to and the people selected by a random draw like bingo numbers. The people who win are sent a personal song video from the PC Chorus after the lunch bell rings. This happens throughout the entire week of Valentine’s Day. This year, the winners were: Coach Scruggs, Jordan Foster, Reid Greiner, Jaclyn Montague, and Michael Frias. Although many students believe these are a cute way to show someone you care, many also had the opposite opinion. Some students believe they are cheesy or too over-the-top. We interviewed PC students to gather their opinions on Song-a-Grams.
