Is The World Flat? Mandela Effect? – Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy theories have recently become a trend. Through celebrities like Kyrie Irving and Draymond Green to Ugly God repeatedly expressing their opinions through podcasts, social media and interviews, conspiracies have spread wide. As a result of the conspiracy theories being thrown around, PCNN decided to do a story on what students at Panther Creek thought on these alternative beliefs. We interviewed people on various conspiracy theories such as the Earth being flat, Major sports leagues being rigged and the Mandela effect.

Our interviewees seemed to find the Mandela effect as the most interesting conspiracy, it being the most radical. To test the effect we used a complicated set of questions meant to test if a being is from an alternate universe, as a result of it the test proved that some of our interviewees were not from this world. Students responded to the effect with disbelief, some asking “then were did i come from?”

After accusing sports leagues of being rigged after wild finishes to championship games, most of the responses were against this conspiracy. Specifically, Marqual Rodgers refused to believe that the 2017 Super Bowl was rigged in Tom Brady’s favor.

Lastly when enlightening students on the ideas of the world actually being flat, our questions were responded with a mixture of acceptance, confusion, and argument. Eresto, aka Daeshawn, had strong beliefs that the earth was round and vigorously defended his position in a panel discussion. While Eresto argued for the world being round, students like Ryan Garrett held firm with their conspiracy beliefs of the world being flat.
