Week of Chaos
After concluding Panther Creek’s 12th annual spirit week, we decided to interview participants on various topics regarding the four themes. These themes included: Dynamic Duo Monday, Jersey Day Tuesday, Way back Wednesday, and School Pride Friday. The hand-selected participants were initially asked, “What was your favorite day and why?” This often provoked the response of “Wayback Wednesday” as each grade enjoyed dressing up from each designated decade. Next, we asked, “What changes would you like to see next year for spirit week?” Many students responded to this question with “Wacky Tacky Wednesday” because this day was removed due to the shortened week. Another question that resulted in well-constructed responses was, “How did you feel about not having a pep rally this year?” Students were very upset that the pep rally was not included during this year’s football season despite the winless record of the football team. It was theorized that the team could achieve a win if the school came together for a pep rally. Ultimately, spirit week was a success during the 2017-2018 school year even though it was limited to only four days. Students really enjoyed showing off their school spirit and hope to keep this positivity on track for the remaining school year.
