Catamounts Go To College

Catamount Collegiate Plans

Introduction

As the first semester ends and the second semester begins, Seniors have to make an important decision as to where they will be spending the next four years of their lives.  Whether it be a local North Carolina college, Out of State or Out of Country college, military, or no college at all.  Within this story, PCNN interviewed Abbey Marrin, Myhra Roberts, Lead Smedley, Will Miller, and Catherine Cenzoprano about their collegiate plan.  The questions asked consist of where they plan on attending, what their intended major is, Greek life, roommate plan, and how the interviewee plans on avoiding the “Freshman Fifteen”.

Interviewees

First, PCNN contacted and interviewed Leah Smedley.  She is going to attend UNC-Charlotte with an undecided major.  Smedley does not plan on participating in Greek life because she does not view herself as a sorority girl.  Additionally, she has a few potential roommates and prefers them to be nice and clean.  Lastly, to avoid the “Freshman Fifteen” Smedley plans on going to the gym often.

Second, PCNN contacted and interviewed Myhra Roberts.  Roberts wants to go to UNC-Charlotte or Eastern Carolina University.  She wants to study Exercise Science to ultimately become a physical therapist.  Lastly, Roberts is undecided whether she wants to rush a sorority.

Third, PCNN contacted and interviewed Catherine Cenzoprano.  Cenzoprano is excited to attend Eastern Carolina University.  Unlike the other interviewees, she has already found a roommate who attends Leesville High School in Raleigh and plans to join a sorority.  Lastly, her ideal roommate has the same major as herself and is very clean.

Fourth, PCNN contacted and interviewed Abbey Marrin.  Marrin also plans to go to Eastern Carolina University and is undecided on joining Greek life.  Marrin’s ideal roommate will be fun and go on adventures with her. Lastly, Marrin’s plans to avoid the “Freshman Fifteen” is to not avoid it, but embrace it.

Fifth and last, PCNN unintentionally ran into Will Miller and interviewed him about his collegiate plans.  Miller is attending UNC-Chapel Hill and has already found a roommate.  He wants him to be fun and clean.  Lastly, Miller plans on joining a fraternity and plans to avoid the “Freshman Fifteen” by going to the gym often.

Reporter, Shea Vore, conducted a Twitter poll to see how many students are in favor of joining Greek life.  Here are the results:

Graphic representing poll results.  As you can see most people would not join a fraternity or sorority.
