Should Panther Creek organize a senior trip?
In the 2019-2020 school year, some members of Panther Creek’s senior class proposed to create an annual senior trip. It would be an outing taking place before graduation, and as a final parting gift for students. Other high schools, like Green Hope High, holds an annual senior trip, but Panther Creek currently doesn’t.
PCNN staff interviewed students, and many were initially onboard with the idea of a senior outing.
Senior Chandler Jackson said, “I think they should definitely do it because Green Hope High School gets to do it and it’s not really fair that we don’t get to.”
“Some schools…have that stuff already set up, or they just have the money and requirements, they have everything all up to standards…” senior Brian Hernandez explained.
Before such an event could occur, there would be a lot of planning involved; currently, the idea of a senior trip is in its early stages.
Matthew McCabe, a senior, said, “I’d be for it, but it would take a long time to plan, but it would have to happen like years in advance…”
Hernandez added, “I think it’d be super cool…I think it would be cool if the school organized it.”
Some Panther Creek students want the senior trip to be international and its destination in Europe, taking place in countries such as France and Italy.
“I would definitely attend because it would be a good way to spend time with your friends one final time,” Jackson says.
