As of April 11th 2024, Panther Creek’s annual water wars tradition has been halted for any foreseeable future. After multiple scandals involving wrecked cars and property damage, Cary police have shut down the event.

Officer Zach Letsinger was seen in a video addressing the issue stating “Water Wars is over. We’ve had garage doors totaled, 3 cars wrecked… Apex PD is now involved. It’s over. Can it. No more.”

We reached out to Officer Zach, however he was unavailable for comment.

The $5 entry fee will be donated to charity, as announced by the official Panther Creek Water Wars Instagram page.
