YoungLife is a Christian based organization whose mission is to teach adolescents about Jesus Christ and assist them in growing their faith. A lot of schools in the SWAC participate; meeting twice per week for club and campaigners. If you enjoy playing exciting games, screaming the lyrics to your favorite songs, and watching hilarious skits; Club is the place for you. According to senior Madison Tobin and junior Greyson Jonczyk, “Club is always lit.”  It’s hard to find students that don’t have a great experience at club, except for sophomore Abby Zadeits. She claims “the first night I went, I had an egg cracked on my head”, but shortly after she recalls “it was hilarious because it happened to me”. Obviously club is a lot of fun, but it is known as a party with a purpose! At the end of a fun-filled club night, YL leaders provide a short life lesson followed by a couple verses from the bible.

If you find yourself intrigued by what you’ve heard at the end of club, then you should attend campaigners! Campaigners is the follow-up for club; students come to read and understand the bible with their Younglife leaders. Senior Coleman Barnacascel states “Campaigners is a more fun version of bible study because it’s with your friends.” The fun doesn’t stop here; Younglife also has camps across the nation that highschoolers can attend! Panther Creek Younglife attends two camps every year; Windy Gap and SharpTop Cove. Windy Gap is fall camp and takes place in Weaverville, North Carolina. The scenery is breathtaking and is referred to as “the best weekend of your life”.

SharpTop Cove is summer camp and takes place in Jasper, Georgia. It’s a week long camp but it seems to go by pretty quickly.

At both camps, there are multiple clubs per day followed by campaigners with your cabin. Outside of club and cabin time, campers participate in camp-wide activities and also have free time! During free time campers can dive into activities like speeding down zip lines, climbing around ropes courses, going horseback riding, rock-wall climbing, playing sports, hanging out in the snack bar and game room, etc. In order to keep up with Panther Creek YoungLife, checkout their twitter page (@PantherCreekYL) or instagram (@pchsYL) for more information on when and where they are meeting!
